Country music superstar Gary Allan has been announced as the entertainment headliner at the Newton County Fair.

Allan will perform July 13 at the fair held in Kentland.

A California native, Allan broke into the country music charts with his album Smoke Rings in the Dark. His past hits include "Drinkin' Dark Whiskey," "Guys Like Me," "See If I Care" and "Nothing On But the Radio."

Allan just released his sixth album, Tough All Over. It features the tune "Nickajack Cave (Johnny Cash's Redemption)." The song pays tribute to the Man in Black and his rejection of drugs after getting lost in a cave.

Ticket prices and other details will be released by Newton County Fair officials in the upcoming months.
