GARY ALLAN PLAYS CHARITY EVENT FOR THE RYAN AND JENNY DEMPSTER FAMILY FOUNDATION

BENEFITTING CHILDREN WITH DIGEORGE SYNDROME Last Wednesday night, Gary Allan headlined an event at HOB in Chicago raising over 225,000 benefiting the Dempster Family Foundation.  The foundation was created by Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster and his wife Jenny in January of 2010, honoring their 15 month old daughter Riley who was born with a 22q11.2 deletion (DiGeorge Syndrome.) The star-studded audience included Dempster’s teammates Ryan Theriot and Derrek Lee as well as former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka, Black Hawks player Adam Burish, Flyers players Danny Briere and Claude Giroux, as well as actor Mike Starr.  Pop artist turned budding country star, Jaron and The Long Road To Love was Allan’s opening act.

TALENT CONTEST TO FIND OPENING ACTS FOR GARY ALLAN

By Sonya Sorich - Three winners of an upcoming talent show will perform at Gary Allan’s Feb. 14 concert at the Columbus Civic Center. Preliminary rounds of the contest, open to all ages, are Jan. 31 at Columbus State University’s Woodruff Gym. It’s $10 to enter and proceeds benefit Columbus Hospice. Winners in female, male and youth divisions will open for Gary Allan. There’s also a total of $1,000 in prize money. Deadline is Jan. 30 2008.

GARY FANS HELP PAPER DOLL AUCTION RECEIVE 58,994 HITS

The second year of Project Paper Doll (PPD) astonished committee members who had conservative expectations with record breaking winning bids and an 82% increase in website hits compared to last year. Despite a recession fraught with foreclosures and bailouts, PPD has raised nearly $45,000 in the last two years for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

The next eBay auction event for PPD is a series of nine framed, handwritten hit-song lyrics that will launch Monday, Jan. 26 and run through Thursday, Feb. 5. These auctions will be announced at www.ebay.com/vch-benefit and featured songs include: “Nothing On But The Radio” - Gary Allan PPD’s celebrity-driven auctions generate national awareness and financial support for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital. No child who needs the hospital’s services is ever denied care on the basis of ability to pay. The Vanderbilt facility was recently recognized as one of the premiere pediatric hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
