GARY ALLAN “THROWSDOWN” ON TOUR AND PRESS CONFERENCE

Country star Gary Allan hosted a press conference with Country Throwdown Tour creators, 4Fini’s Sarah Baer and Kevin Lyman this afternoon.  The trio answered questions for nearly an hour covering all things Throwdown for members of the Nashville media.  Allan will headline the 2012 Country Throwdown Tour this Summer, beginning May 8.

The 2012 Country Throwdown Tour featuring Gary Allan, Justin Moore, Josh Thompson, Eric Paslay, Sunny Sweeney, The Bluebird Cafe tent stage artists and local acts to be announced will be hitting the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire on May 26th. Now, in partnership with his stylist, Renee Layher, he’s opening his own high-end clothing store in Nashville, so locals with a big enough wallet can dress in similar cutting-edge fashion. Obviously, it’s not all jeans and T-shirts. Allan’s store, called The Label, opens today at 2222 12th Ave. S., and everything in the store is for sale. That means the guitars on the wall, the art, the light fixtures and the tables and chairs all have a price tag. But the clothes — from Tony Sartino custom-tailored suits starting at $3,200 to Logan Riese custom leather jackets — are the real stars.

GARY ALLAN IN “HARMONY” WITH CO-WRITERS

By Wendy Newcomer - GAC Yesterday morning at the University School of Nashville, Gary Allan, Brett James (co-writer of Carrie Underwood‘s “Jesus Take The Wheel”) and Odie Blackmon (co-writer of George Strait‘s “She’ll Leave You With A Smile”) had a very special co-writing session. The trio of songwriters created a tune called “Harmony” with campers at the 2nd Annual ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp, a week-long residential program open to campers nationwide with developmental disabilities, talented in music. The Camp has a dual purpose of studying Williams syndrome and other developmental disabilities and providing music enrichment through performance and education. ACM Lifting Lives funds the costs of the Camp, enabling the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities to advance its mission of improving the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families through research, training and service.
