GARY ALLAN GIVING VOICE TO HEARTFELT MUSIC AGAIN
Tricia Despres - Chicago Sun-Times
The name of country rocker Gary Allan’s current tour, “Get Off on the Pain,” seems quite apropos these days, as the highly acclaimed singer is coming off rather extensive throat surgery in November.
“I was having a hard time singing those super-high notes and eventually lost all of my falsetto,” explains Allan from his home in Nashville. “Once the surgery was over, it was kind of a wild recovery that honestly drove me crazy. Shutting up was hell. I couldn’t talk there for a while, so I spent most of my time walking around with a dry erase board, which my teen daughters found quite comical.”
Yet now, the singer, who not only has been known for his tough, tattooed exterior but his unforgettable raspy voice, says he is “sounding better than ever” and is looking forward to his March 26 date at The Venue at Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind.

Gary Allan – “Get off on the Pain”
Gary Allan has always been known for doing great ballads. Allan has always tried to have more meaning in his songs instead of cliché lyrics that attract the masses. My favorite song off this album is “Kiss Me When I’m Down.” Other songs on the album that definitely deserve listening to include “No Regrets,” “She Gets Me,” and “When You Give Yourself Away.”
