By: admin Categories:News

It was snowing Wednesday (Feb. 24) in downtown Nashville, but an afternoon of acoustic music warmed several hundred Country Radio Seminar attendees during the Universal Music Group show at the Ryman Auditorium. Eighteen UMG artists performed one song each. Appearing, in order of appearance, were Easton Corbin, Laura Bell Bundy, Josh Kelley, Coldwater Jane, Randy Montana, Mallary Hope, Ashton Shepherd, Randy Rogers, Ryan Bingham, David Nail, Julianne Hough, Billy Currington, Jamey Johnson, Gary Allan, Josh Turner, Vince Gill, Lee Ann Womack, and Sugarland. Gill, Johnson and Sugarland earned standing ovations for the new songs they debuted. Gill sang "Bread and Water," Johnson performed "That's Why I Write Songs," and Sugarland sang "Wide Open."

By the end of the night, the Ryman’s balcony would be tested by stomping fans, a bottle of Jack Daniel’s whiskey would be passed around onstage and a dog would somehow come into play.

GARY ALLAN MAKES A CHECK OFF CAREER WISH LIST

By: admin Categories:News

by Alanna Conaway - The boot This Thursday, Nov. 12, Gary Allan will headline the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville for the first time in his career. “The last time I played the Ryman, I opened for Mark Chesnutt and David Lee Murphy,” Gary tells Nashville’s Tennessean newspaper. “It was a really long time ago. I am looking forward to playing it again.” Gary says he purposely doesn’t do many shows in Nashville since there aren’t many “cool rooms” to play, but the Ryman is certainly an exception to this rule! “[Playing the Ryman is] one of those big ones to mark off your list,” he says.

GARY ALLAN TAKES CENTER STAGE AT RYMAN

By: admin Categories:News

By Cindy Watts • THE TENNESSEAN
Gary Allan doesn’t play Nashville much these days — on purpose. Locally, the platinum-selling country singer closely guards his reputation as a live musician, and until the opportunity to headline the historic Ryman Auditorium came up, he elected not to anchor any shows in town. “There aren’t many cool rooms (in Nashville,)” Allan says. He was excited, however, to get back to the Ryman. He will play there Thursday along with openers Jack Ingram and the Eli Young Band.
