His men’s fashion store marks one-year anniversary.

Gary Allan celebrated the one-year anniversary of his men’s clothing boutique in style Thursday (Sept. 13) with a chic party at the Nashville headquarters of The Label, the high-end, high-fashion store he opened with stylist Renee Layher last September.
“It’s been a blast. It’s been fun getting new designers and making stuff and watching it grow. It’s also like expanding your closet, because I just come here and pick new stuff out,” Gary told CountryWeekly.com, gesturing at the long black coat he was wearing.
Gary also took the opportunity to perform a short acoustic set for the evening’s guests, running through hits such as “Right Where I Need to Be” and new single “Every Storm Runs Out of Rain,” which is at radio now.
As for a new album, his first since 2010’s Get Off on the Pain, Gary says he’s eyeing a 2013 release. “I [recorded] a third of it with [producer] Mark Wright, a third of it with my engineer and then a third of it with Jay Joyce, who does a lot of rock records. So it’s all over the place,” he says of the album’s sound.
In the meantime, he’s looking forward to assessing the new additions to the store and keeping guys well-dressed for a second year.
“I just got off a plane last night, and haven’t been here in a month, so there’s lots of stuff I haven’t even seen yet,” Gary says. “I’m just happy to be here.”
