His men’s fashion store marks one-year anniversary.

Gary Allan celebrated the one-year anniversary of his men’s clothing boutique in style Thursday (Sept. 13) with a chic party at the Nashville headquarters of The Label, the high-end, high-fashion store he opened with stylist Renee Layher last September.
“It’s been a blast. It’s been fun getting new designers and making stuff and watching it grow. It’s also like expanding your closet, because I just come here and pick new stuff out,” Gary told CountryWeekly.com, gesturing at the long black coat he was wearing.
Gary also took the opportunity to perform a short acoustic set for the evening’s guests, running through hits such as “Right Where I Need to Be” and new single “Every Storm Runs Out of Rain,” which is at radio now.
As for a new album, his first since 2010’s Get Off on the Pain, Gary says he’s eyeing a 2013 release. “I [recorded] a third of it with [producer] Mark Wright, a third of it with my engineer and then a third of it with Jay Joyce, who does a lot of rock records. So it’s all over the place,” he says of the album’s sound.
In the meantime, he’s looking forward to assessing the new additions to the store and keeping guys well-dressed for a second year.
“I just got off a plane last night, and haven’t been here in a month, so there’s lots of stuff I haven’t even seen yet,” Gary says. “I’m just happy to be here.”
Gary Allan and fashion stylist Renee Layher, partners of The Label men’s clothing boutique in Nashville, welcomed ‘Master Hatter’ Mark Mejia of Baron Hats to the store for a special trunk show. Baron Hats has been the preferred hat maker for screen legends John Wayne, Fred Astaire, and Frank Sinatra for the last 60 years.
Among the guests at the trunk show and trying on hats were ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons and JT Hodges. Guests were able to watch Mark work first-hand steam clean and shape hats while also measuring heads for custom-orders. The Label is the only store in the Southeast to carry Baron Hats.
Gary Allan says he has “revamped my whole show” in advance of this summer’s Country Throwdown tour. During a Monday afternoon (Feb. 27) gathering in Nashville, he told reporters he’s recording new material in the coming weeks and will include some of those songs in his set list for the upcoming tour. Allan was joined by Country Throwdown creators Kevin Lyman and Sarah Baer for the press conference at Allan’s clothing store, the Label. The Country Throwdown tour launches May 20 in Gulfport, Miss. In addition to Allan’s headlining slot, Justin Moore and Rodney Atkins will appear on select dates.
Nashville Lifestyles 2011 Most Beautiful People party was held at a private venue to celebrate Nashville’s finest and commemorate October’s Most Beautiful People issue. Sponsors included: Cadillac, First Tennessee, Grey Goose, and Vanderbilt Center for Cosmetic Plastic Surgery.
